Healthcare
The UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay is comprised of three specialty hospitals including the Benioff Children’s Hospital, the Bakar Cancer Hospital, and the Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital. The project also includes a Medical Office Building and a Central Plant. This public project was managed via the Integrated Project Delivery Model (IPD) in a ‘Big Room’ that housed designers, builders, the owner's staff and consultants for the duration of the project. Key elements that contributed to the success of the project included intense collaboration, metric-driven productivity, and use of LEAN construction methods such as Last Planner, Target-Value Design, and Pull Scheduling. CCM was an integral part of the owner's team.
